White - used on NPT threads up to 3/8 ”. Yellow - used on NPT threads ½ “up to 2”, often referred to as “gas” strip
The tape is usually wrapped three times around the thread to ensure a tight seal and prevent leakage.
Standards may vary depending on the industry: gas sealing strips (according to EU regulations) should be thicker than for water sealing. Although PTFE itself is suitable for use with high pressure oxygen, the quality of the tape must also be oil-free.
PTFE THREAD TAPE GOLD
- Chemical resistance to highly aggressive media
- -240°C up to + 260°C, 20 bar , for oxygen do + 60°C i 30 bar
- DIN/DVGW, BAM/oxygen, FDA 21 CFR, WRC
FLAX (PULLED AND KNOTTED)
- easy and simple usage
- + 140°C
- improves the stability of the connection under pressure
TEADIT ® ECOTAPE- LE ® - low emission product
ECOTAPE-LE ® is manufactured using an advanced structured matrix that incorporates graphite into expanded PTFE.
Due to the exceptional properties of ePTFE and graphite, this combination allows:
- wide range of chemical resistance
- low coefficient of friction
- excellent heat dissipation due to the high thermal conductivity of graphite
- superior mechanical resistance.
ECOTAPE-LE® is specially designed for use on existing threaded joints, withstanding a wide range of temperatures and / or hydrocarbons. It is often used in refineries and petrochemical industries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This manufacturing process provides a final product of high integrity, resulting in the best sealing solution for threaded joints.
